REWE GROUP is one of Europe’s largest retail groups, founded in 1927 in Germany as a cooperative of independent retailers. It operates in more than 20 countries and brings together various retail formats, including REWE supermarkets, Penny discount stores, Billa supermarkets, and Nahkauf convenience stores.Nahkauf is part of REWE GROUP, with over 450 retail locations. It focuses on a convenience store format, providing customers with high-quality products in a compact and accessible setting, combining the advantages of local service with the high standards of an international retailer.
Information about the project
- For one of the chain’s stores, with an area of 860 sq m, a comprehensive lighting solution was required to meet quality standards and enhance product presentation.
Tasks
- Develop an efficient lighting system tailored to the store layout.
- Ensure optimal product presentation in key areas: the meat section, ready-to-eat foods, baked goods, and fruit & vegetable displays.
- Implement lighting solutions that enhance the visual appeal of fresh products.
Completed work
- Design a lighting plan with zoning considerations and a calculated power output of 6.15 W/sq m.
- Installed high-efficiency lighting with an output of 165-170 lm/W to maximise energy efficiency and illumination quality.
- Selected and fitted specialised lighting modules for Fresh Zones, highlighting the natural colours of the products.
- Manufactured and delivered the lighting equipment on schedule.
Result
- The store received a high-quality, energy-efficient, and well-thought-out lighting solution.
- Improved visual appeal of products in key sections, contributing to increased sales.
- Proper lighting makes products look more attractive, positively influencing customer purchasing decisions.
